Day 1
The day dawned and due to John's calming influence i managed to get of the ferry without killing any of our fellow passengers. We immediately launched into our, by now traditional dockside tour. Following the sat nav , we toured through the restricted areas of Bilbao Port by pointing to the gps and much head slapping. The helps security boys just waved us on through.
The weather was another familiar Scottish your day, with the mist wreathing the mountains, just a bit warmer than normal. The afternoon was a constant debate as to whether to stop and put on our waterproofs our not. In the end the decision, not, was justified when the sun broke through for the last 15 miles, just as Norway had predicted.
The ride offered us some challenging roads, just when we thought they were as challenging as they could get the wet moss on the middle of the road turned up. Just as well it did as it stabilised some of the loose gravel !!
